200ft Fall From Grasmoor!

 

A man who was out fell walking had to be rescued after falling 200ft (61m) from Grasmoor in the Buttermere valley.
The man fell from an area on Grasmoor Fell known as the High Face next to Crummock Water.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue were called out at lunchtime on Sunday 1st October.

The man from Manchester had managed to call for help himself using his mobile phone even though he had sustained serious head injuries. He was treated at the scene before being brought down from the mountain by a stretcher and then airlifted to West Cumberland Hospital.
