Body Of Missing Man Found

 

A search for a missing man has been called of after the discovery of a body.
63 year old Graham Harper was on holiday in the Lake District with his wife when he decided to go for a walk over Cat Bells from Hawes End with his Labrador dog.

He was last seen on Wednesday and after he failed to return to his holiday accommodation the alarm was raised.

The search consisted of 7 mountain rescue teams (over 150 volunteers) and an RAF rescue helicopter using the latest heat seeking equipment.

Graham’s body was found in the Newlands Valley after the biggest search in Keswick mountain rescue’s history.

His faithful dog was found by his side guarding his master’s body when mountain rescue arrived on the scene.

Mark Hodgson of Keswick mountain rescue said “It is very sad when it ends like this”.
