Woman Dies On Fell Side

Mountain Rescue teams were called out to an incident involving a 62 year old female who had collapsed with chest pains.

The woman was out walking with her husband around the Scafell area when she took ill. They were located them around the Brown Tongue area of Lingmel Gill.

An RAF Sea King was requested to evacuate the casualty from the fell side but on there arrival the woman had failed to recover and the Air Ambulance flew the team doctor in to confirm that she had died.

Wasdale Mountain rescue brought the woman’s body down from the fell by stretcher to Brackenclose.

Our condolences go out to the husband and family.
