New footpaths ensure walkers safety

The Lake District National Park & The National Trust have just finished four new footpaths in the Lake District.
These new paths will ensure the safety of walkers, horse riders and cyclists by giving them an alternate route away from roads.

Most of the new routes are in the south of the Lake District with one located in the northwest near Crummock water with the others being near or around Windermere.

The new paths will offer users better views of the Lake District area as well as keeping people safe and this was the view of Clare Redhouse, rights of way assistant at the LDNPA.

Route1: new route at the northern end of Crummock Water
Route 2: new route on western shore of Windermere
Route 3: new route near High Wray, west of Windermere
Route 4: new route by Loughrigg Tarn.
