Young Man Dies After 100ft Fall
A 19 year old man has dies after he fell
while out climbing in the Lake District.
Daniel James Metcalf from Tingley, near
Morely, West Yorkshire was out
climbing with his brother on Dow Crag.
The accident happened on Wednesday
19th April and was witnessed by a
female walker who promptly contacted
the emergency services on her mobile
phone.
Coniston mountain rescue attended the scene along with an RAF helicopter who winched the young msns brother to safety as he was suffering the effects of shock.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team later announced that the young man had dies
instantly after the 100ft fall and that Police were investigating.
